Introduction The question i did my project was does a person recognize how many time they are being touched while blindfolded. I did this project because there are all of theses games where you close your eyes and you have to tell what shape or word they are writing on your arm. I wanted to see if this would work if you poked the person insed of write on your arm.
I. Hypothesis
MY hypothesis for this project was that I thought that Griffin and Mia would be able to feel all the points when poked in the back of the knee but not all the points when poked in the inside elbow. II. Materials and Methods I did this project on Griffin Edwards in 5th grade and Mia Edwards in 3rd grade. What I did was I took a paper clip and unbent so that it was in the shape of a U. I also had to tape five pens together so I could use an object with five points, I also had a fork and a blindfold for this test. After I had all my materials together I put the blindfold on Griffin or Mia, once they had the blind fold on I would poke then on the inside elbow and the back of the knee, as I was doing this they would tell me how many points they felt poking this, I did this a few times the first two times i would poke them lightly, and then the last two tries i would poke them a little harder. III. Results
IV. Conclusion My conclusion for this project is that for both the inside of the arm and the back of the knee if you dont press to hard you most likely wont be able to feel all the points on the object poking you. V. Explanation I think this because your brain feels pain through the nervous system and your body has roughly twenty different never endings in the skin that tell you if somethings hot, cold, or something that hurts. SInce there are only twenty nerve endings the ones on the back of the knee are stronger and more sensitive then the ones on the inside of the elbow.
